Chatham County Veteran Services Officer is David Kennedy, who worked for the State Veterans Office for many years. Some of you may remember David when he visited Chatham County veterans. David also is a veteran who served in the US Navy early in his career.

The Chatham County Veteran Services Officer counsels and educates veterans, their dependents and survivors on potential benefits available to them from the Department of Veterans Affairs, State of North Carolina and Chatham County resources.
We are here to assist veterans and survivors with preparing all application for benefits including:

  • Health care
  • Help with buying a home
  • Education
  • Insurance
  • Income for veterans disabled due to their service
  • A pension for low income wartime veterans
  • Burial in a national cemetery

We also provide referrals to third-party agencies to assist veterans with an array of services including legal, civilian life integration, job placement, and housing.

Chatham County is dedicated in helping veterans achieve and exceed their
personal and professional goals. Thank you for your service.
