Family Fun Night

Chatham County Parks and Recreation hosts Family Fun Days approximately every quarter of the year, one at each of the four corners of the county. Come out and enjoy the family activities, games, bouncy houses, fishing, Sheriff's Office with prizes, and a food vendor**. We hope to see you out there!**Fees apply for concession purchases.

Easter Egg Hunt & Spring Into Safety Event

We sponsor the Annual Easter Egg Hunt and Spring Into Safety usually held the weekend before Easter at Central Carolina Community College (Pittsboro Campus). The event usually starts at 10 AM and includes children's games, activities, bouncy houses, local law enforcement agencies, safety demonstrations, concessions for purchase, and MUCH MORE! If you and your children plan to participate in the Egg Hunt, don't forget to bring a basket!  We post information about upcoming dates on the calendar at right. 

Easter Egg Hunt

National Walk Day Event

We participate in National Walk Day every year in early April.  Please join us at one of the many locations for National Walking Day. At each location, you can meet with others to exercise and make an effort towards living a healthier lifestyle. Walks will last for approximately 30 minutes.  2019 National Walk Day Flyer

Reindeer Run 5K Walk & Run

Chatham County Partnership with Children hosts the 5K Reindeer Run at Central Carolina Community College in Pittsboro the second Saturday in December.  We are a partner with this event.  Proceeds from this event are granted to various organizations to promote healthy lifestyles in Chatham County.   

Trunk or Treat/Fall Festival

Our Annual Trunk or Treat/ Fall Festival is held yearly in October; typically the Friday before Halloween. We invite everyone to come out dressed in their Halloween best for trick or treating, carnival games, and much more. The Trunk or Treat is held at Southwest District Park.
