Summer Reading Program 2019
A Universe of Stories
June 8 - August 17, 2019
How to Register for the Summer Reading Program
Signing up is easy! Just ask to register at your local Chatham County Public Libraries branch and you will receive a summer reading log. Track the activities you complete with a grown-up (Pre-K) or the hours you spend reading (K-12). You will also receive a bookmark to use as you work toward your goal!
How to Win a Prize
Simple! Pre-readers (Pre-K) must complete 10 of the activities on their log to earn a free book. Readers in grades K-12 must read for 10 hours to earn a free book. That’s it. You earned your prize, and you will be entered into a grand prize drawing!
Want to Keep Reading?
Go for it! For every 5 additional activities completed (Pre-K) or 5 additional hours read (K-12), you get another entry into the grand prize drawing. The more you read, the better your chances become of winning the grand prize!
What is the Grand Prize?
For readers who use Chatham Community Library, the Grand Prize is a $50 gift card to McIntyre’s Books. For readers who use the Wren Memorial Library or the Goldston Library, the prize is a $50 gift card to Barnes & Noble.
What Events Are Happening This Summer?
We’ll have lots of special events going on at all three branches during the summer. In addition to story time programming, we’ll have weekly crafts, special performances, and movies! Check our online calendar for event dates and times.
If you attend a special event at the Chatham Community Library, stop by and visit our sponsors, the Friends of the Chatham Community Library at their information table. While there, enter into a drawing for a basket of "out of this world" prizes!
Readers, you now have your summer mission! Sign up for the Summer Reading program and explore the Universe of Stories all summer long!
