Adult Services offers materials, services, and programs designed to meet patrons' educational, recreational, and informational needs throughout adult life.
Library staff are committed to welcoming and serving everyone as valued library users. In support of the Chatham County Public Libraries' broader mission, we provide many free programs, events, and services for adults in our communities. We offer educational and recreational programs and work in collaboration with local and county agencies to provide quality services.

Apply for a library card that will give you access to Chatham County Public Libraries' online resources. You will need to present a valid photo ID (and proof of address if your ID does not show your current address) in order to receive full borrowing privileges for physical library materials.
Book clubs for adults take place at all library branches. Registration is not necessary, and new members are always welcome. Chatham Community Library offers book club kits for checkout.
Computer classes are offered through Chatham Community Library. While the library is closed, all classes will be presented online.
Local history and genealogy materials are found primarily at Chatham Community Library in Pittsboro. Learn about the physical collection, genealogy databases, and research assistance offered through the library.
We deliver large-print materials, as well as books and audiobooks from our regular collection, to qualifying patrons who are unable to visit the library. (Outreach services are temporarily suspended due to concerns about the spread of COVID-19.)

Tell us what you like to read, and we'll send you three to four recommendations within five to seven business days.
Reference staff can help you download eBooks, use a library database, research a topic, troubleshoot a computer/tech issue, and more. While the library is closed, staff members are available by phone, email, chat, and video conference (by appointment).
Print virtually any document or web page from your internet-connected device to a printer at Chatham Community Library in Pittsboro. (Wireless printing is not available while the library is closed.)
