This permit is required before the installation of a septic system.  The permit requires:

Payment of fees, which can be paid by check, cash, money order or credit cardPayments made by credit card now require a 3% convenience fee .

The Construction Authorization is the second permit needed to install a septic system. The charge for the Construction Authorization is dependant upon the type septic system. This permit expires at the same time as the Improvement Permit, or after five years whichever is less.

NON-OWNERS:
If someone other than the land owner submits an application a legal representation document  must be signed by the owner and legal representative.  This document includes information for the parcel of land on which the septic will be installed, as well as contact information for the owner and their legal representative. 

911 ADDRESS:
A 911 address is needed for the Construction Authorization and for Well permits. The 911 address needs to be posted before your appointment. To apply for a 911 address, Contact Lesa Chavis at the Emergency Operations Center at 542-2811 ext. 8161.

FLOOD PLAIN DETERMINATION:
A flood plain determination will need to be done by the Planning Department for all new  Permits, or any permits not previously submitted to Environmental Health on a parcel of land. The top portion of the form will need to be filled out and the Planning Department will complete the bottom. The form will need to be submitted to Planning in person.  Contact the Planning Department at 542-8204 for more information.
