Chatham County contracts with FirstHealth of the Carolinas to provide County-wide paramedic level EMS services.  There are six transport ambulances and two quick response vehicles (QRV) scheduled on a 24-hour basis to cover the County. There are two additional QRVs scheduled during peak hours throughout the week to meet the increased demand.  During 2019, FirstHealth responded to 8,703 calls for service and transported approximately 5,500 patients.
