Resources for Farmers with Hurricane Florence Damage

The NC Department of Agriculture has shared the following information for farmers with damage related to Hurricane Florence: 

Hotline for Farmers and Agri-Business Operators:

The N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services has a hotline to connect farmers with resources that can assist with agricultural disasters. The toll-free number is 1-866-645-9403 on Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm.

USDA Assistance for Agricultural Land Damaged by Flooding

The USDA-Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) in North Carolina has established two special Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) sign-ups to help farmers and ranchers that suffered damage to working lands and livestock mortality as a result of Hurricane Florence. EQIP is available to help farmers treat the on-farm problems caused by the high winds, rainfall and flood waters due to Hurricane Florence across the entire State of North Carolina.
