CANCELLED- Chatham County Spring Ag Fest 2020

Based on the preventative actions recommended by the Governor’s Office and public health officials, the Spring Ag Fest has been cancelled. 

PITTSBORO, NC— Chatham County invites residents to its 3rd annual Spring Ag Fest on Saturday, March 28, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Chatham County Agriculture & Conference Center (CCACC) in Pittsboro. The Spring Ag Fest is a celebration of Chatham County’s agriculture, forestry and natural resources. The event is free and open to the public.

WHO:              This event is made possible by the collaborative efforts of the Chatham County Center of NC Cooperative Extension, the Chatham County Agriculture & Conference Center, Chatham County Farm Bureau, Chatham County Government, Chatham County Soil & Water, Farm Service Agency and the NC Forest Service. 




There is a full slate of events – something for everyone. At the Livestock Arena, events include barrel racing, Friesian horses, mustang horses, Roman riding, and a Parade of Breeds for horses, sheep, goats and cattle. Livestock exhibits including cattle, horses, alpacas, goats, donkeys, poultry, rabbits and more will be on display for an up-close look. There will be free pony rides for kids sponsored by the Chatham County Farm Bureau. Visitors can try their hand at milking a Lilly Den Farm cow.


More than 100 indoor and outdoor exhibitors and vendors will highlight local farms, farmers’ markets, sustainable agriculture, agricultural support and advocacy, agribusiness, beekeeping, livestock, forestry, green industry, wildlife, conservation and much more. Visitors will get to meet Smokey Bear and chat with local forest rangers.

Several Food Trucks will offer tasty options for breakfast and lunch. Thanks to the generosity of the Chatham County Farm Bureau, the first 800 visitors will receive a $5 food ticket to spend at the food trucks.

The brand new 4-H Kids’ Zone will feature both scheduled events and ongoing activities including an Agricultural Magic Show sponsored by Mountaire, Farm Bingo, Ag Jeopardy and many other activities featuring pollinators, dairy cows, tractors, fishing, gardening, poultry and much more

Overflow parking will be available at two locations, each with free shuttle service to the Ag Fest:

  • Central Carolina Community College next door to the Agriculture & Conference Center
  • Chatham County Annex/Justice Center on E. Chatham St. downtown
