MISSION: To provide all citizens with a variety of recreational opportunities through facilities and programs that are accessible, safe and well-maintained.
To help residents stay fit, Chatham County has partnered with the Town of Siler City and the Chatham County Council on Aging to create a walking series around the county. Walkers of all ages are invited. Click here for more information on the series.

MAJOR SERVICES & PROGRAMS:
- Manages county recreational and park facilities
- Offers the following county- sponsored recreation programs: basketball for adults, boys and girls; fast-pitch softball for girls; adult softball; t-ball for girls and boys; youth track and field; youth wrestling, and youth tennis lessons.
- Supports programs managed by other organizations for youth football, soccer and baseball and for kayaking and canoeing;
- Partners with other organizations to develop walking/biking trails and river canoe trails;
- Sponsors special events, including Easter egg hunt, fall festival, movies in the parks, family fun day and summer recreation camp.
Free of charge and open to the public, this event is meant to provide the public with the opportunity to play basketball.

Resident Registration begins on 9/19/2017 and NON-resident Registration begins on 10/2/2017. ALL Registration closes on 10/31/2017. This program is co-ed for ages 5/6, but is offered to both boys, up to age 17, and girls, up to age 15. Fees for Residents: $30. Fees for Non-Residents: $40

Youth Wrestling is opening registration for both Resi-dents and Non-Residents on 9/18/2017 and will close 10/31/2017. These practices will typically be held twice a week at Northwood High School. Schedules will be deter-mined closer to the beginning of the program start date. This program is co-ed and is offered for ages 5-14. Fees for Residents: $30. Fees for Non-Residents: $40

8th Annual Trunk Or Treat featuring: Food ($), games, prizes, inflatables, music, movie on the lawn, and of course Trunks with Treats!

-5:45pm All cars handing out candy from their trunks must be at the park.
