The Chatham County Board of Commissioners is committed to providing a stronger, more diverse economic base that will provide more jobs for residents both now and into the future. We have a long, proud tradition in manufacturing and agri-business, but we are excited to a wide array of businesses, including small entrepreneurial businesses, springing up in various parts of the county. We also want existing businesses to know that we are here as a resource to support their needs so that they will continue to be successful.

We have many assets to offer businesses, including:

  • A convenient location directly between the Research Triangle and the Piedmont Triad;
  • Major highways connecting us to the major cities in the area and a nearby international airport connecting us to the rest the nation and the world;
  • A population with an overall high education level, along with two community college locations to support business-specific training needs;
  • A priceless quality of life that includes rural community values, scenic beauty and good schools; and
  • Hard-working and friendly people who are increasingly diverse.

This section of the county’s website compiles several resources helpful to both existing businesses in Chatham County and businesses exploring the idea of locating here. If you don’t find what you are looking for here, please contact the County Manager’s Office at 919-542-8200.
