Taxpayers can pay county taxes using the options outlined below.

BY MAIL:
Taxes may be paid by mailing payment with the payment stub from the bottom of the tax bill to the address shown on the stub in the envelope provided. 

IN PERSON:
Payments can be made in person at the office of the Tax Collector in the Governmental Center in Pittsboro. A drop box is also provided outside the governmental center for after hours payments. Payments will be considered received on the next business day and will be subject to interest if payments are received on or after the past due date. 

ONLINE:

There is a transaction fee of approximately three percent associated with this method of payment.

CREDIT CARD:
Payments by credit cards can be made at the following websites: www.ccpaymentservice.com  or you may call toll free  1-866-802-2998 (a transaction fee of approximately three percent will be charged for this service).   You may also use this website: www.officialpayments.com or call  1-877-240-6080 . This company will also charge a transaction fee.

BANK DRAFT:
The Chatham County Tax Collector is now offering taxpayers the option of having their taxes drafted from their bank account. Currently the bank draft will occur annually on or about December 15th. Click here to access the bank draft form.

Taxes for motor vehicles will not routinely be drafted. In the event that a taxpayer will be away during the time that taxes will become due on a registered motor vehicle, the Tax Collector will work with those individual taxpayers.
