Winter Reading Program "Be Cool: Read!"

Post Date:11/21/2017 10:42 AM

Chatham County Public Libraries invite children and teens to participate in the Winter Reading Program “Be Cool: Read!” at all Chatham County Public Libraries branches from December 2, 2017 through January 6, 2018.

The Winter Reading Program, sponsored by the Friends of the Chatham Community Library, is open to children ages 2 and up. Readers participate by picking up a reading BINGO sheet at their local library branch and completing a 5-in-a-row BINGO to earn a cool winter prize. All readers who complete at least one BINGO will be entered into a drawing for a $50 Gift Certificate to a local or online bookseller.

The Winter Reading Program kicks off at the Chatham Community Library on December 2, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. with a performance by Jeghetto. Jeghetto (Tarish Pipkins) will be performing with his son Tarin for this Fall/Winter show.  The father and son duo will be performing famous tales as well as stories written by the puppeteers themselves.  The stories will be reenacted with puppets made of recycled materials.  This is a family friendly show for children of ALL ages!
