Man Charged with Solicitation to Commit 1st Degree Murder
In August, the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office conducted an investigation into allegations that Mark Andrew Lavandowski, 51, conspired to post the bond of another inmate in return for the murder of his wife. Lavandowski is accused of attempting to hire a fellow inmate to commit the murder while serving time for the violation of a domestic violence order.
On October 2, a Grand Jury returned a True Bill of Indictment regarding the felony charges of solicitation of first degree murder and attempted obstruction of justice. Lavandowski was assigned a $2.5 million secured bond and is scheduled to appear in Chatham County District Court in Pittsboro on November 6.
