Chatham Seeks Applicants for Vacancy on Agricultural Advisory Board

Post Date:09/06/2017 5:13 PM
The Chatham County Agricultural Advisory Board has an upcoming vacancy. Applicants must be county residents actively engaged in farming, agribusiness or other agricultural interests. The board is very interested in attracting a younger generation of agricultural voices to its membership. The deadline to apply is Monday, Sept. 18, 2017, at 5 pm.

This board reviews and approves Voluntary Agricultural District applications and advises the County Board of Commissioners on agricultural issues. The board typically meets as needed on the second Tuesday of the month in Pittsboro in the evenings.

The Agricultural Advisory Board seeks to have two members from each of the four designated regions of the county and is in need of applicants living in the southeast quadrant of the county. The southeast region is south of US 64 and east of NC 87.

It is important that members be able to use email to stay updated on meetings.

To apply, please submit an application form no later than Sept. 18, 2017, at 5 pm. An online form can be found at www.chathamnc.org/CommitteeAppointments. Or you may contact Lindsay Ray at lindsay.ray@chathamnc.org to obtain a printed or email application.
