Post Date:11/01/2018 11:56 AM
FEMA has notified the North Carolina Governor’s Office that an extension of one month has been granted for residents, businesses and others in declared counties to apply for Hurricane Florence relief. The deadline to apply for physical property damage assistance is now December 13, 2018 at midnight.

“This action is greatly appreciated since Chatham County was just added to the FEMA disaster list a few days ago,” said Dan LaMontagne, interim county manager.

The extended deadline of December 13. 2018 covers applications for FEMA disaster assistance and Small Business Administration (SBA) low-interest loans for homeowners, businesses, nonprofits, churches and other organizations. However, the deadline to return SBA economic injury applications remains June 14, 2019.

To apply for FEMA assistance, visit http://DisasterAssistance.gov online or call toll-free 1-800-621-3362 (voice, 711, or VRS) or 800-462-7585 (TTY) between 7 AM to 11 PM EST seven days a week until further notice. Multilingual operators are available
