Workshop Offers Postiive Approach for Caregivers of Challenging Patients
Especially Helpful for Working with Dementia Patients
The Chatham County Council on Aging joins with the Family Caregiver Program in offering a special workshop, A Positive Approach to Care (Hand Under Hand TM), which provides help for those caring for people with dementia and other challenging issues. The workshop is slated for Monday, August 20, 2018 at 6 PM at the Eastern Senior Center in Pittsboro.
Presenter Lesia Henderson has been certified as a Positive Approach to Care Trainer. She received her training from Teepa Snow, a dementia training specialist. Henderson travels around the state leading workshops based on Hand Under HandTM which teaches families and professionals how to approach dementia with a positive attitude. This workshop teaches caregivers how to see things from the other side and to better understand what a person with dementia is feeling.
