Friends of the Chatham Community Library Hosts Spring Book Sale April 12-14

The Friends of the Chatham Community Library will hold its Spring Book Sale on the following dates and times at the library on the the campus of Central Carolina Community College in Pittsboro:

  • Thursday, April 12 , 9 AM to 7 PM
  • Friday, April 13, 9 AM to 7 PM
  • Saturday, April 14, 9 AM to 2 PM

More than 17,000 hardbound and softbound books, plus DVDs, CDs, audio books and more, will be available for purchase. As usual, the sale provides an exceptional selection of books sorted by various fiction and nonfiction categories.  The sale includes a fine collection of children’s books, movies, TV shows, books and music on DVDs and CDs, some never opened and many of them collectible.

On Thursday, except for a few specially priced items, hardcover books are $3, paperbacks are $2 and DVDs/CDs are $3. Children’s books are individually priced.Sales of $200 or more are entitled to a 20 percent discount.

On Friday, all books and materials are half price, and on Saturday, except for DVDs/CDs, customers may fill grocery bags with books for $5 each, with no limit to the number of bags. DVDs/CDs and audio books will be sold at $1 each on Saturday.

People may pay by cash, check, or credit card.

Members of the Friends of the Chatham Community Library receive an additional discount of $3 on their purchases. This includes people  who choose to join the Friends at the book sale.

Proceeds from the book sale are used to benefit the library for underwriting various programs; purchasing needed books, materials and equipment; and improving its technology and services.

The sale is open to the public and admission is free.

The book sale is held in the Holmes Family Meeting Room of the library, which is located at 197 NC Highway 87 North in Pittsboro, about a half mile north of US Highway 64 Business (West Street).

The library has ample free parking at the library and adjacent college and ample volunteers to assist with carrying out and loading books. At the sale, free bags are available, compliments of the local Harris Teeter and Lowes food stores. Carts will be available for transporting purchases to cars, compliments of Lowe’s Pittsboro.
